The Chesterfield Township Police Dispatch Center provides state-of-the-art public safety dispatch service to the police and fire departments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A dispatch center is the nerve center to public safety. Dispatch services for police, fire and EMS are also provided to the City of New Baltimore on a contract basis. The center handles approximately 35,000 for service annually. The center has the most technologically advanced equipment and has a budget that allows for nine highly trained dispatchers that work 8 hour shifts. Dispatchers are required to make quick decisions; coordinate multiple calls at one time while being courteous, calm and professional. In addition, the dispatcher position requires the ability to maintain control of stressful situations.
