Records Department

The Records Department is open from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Records personnel can help citizens with a variety of needs such as acquiring copies of accident and incident reports, permits for purchasing and registering firearms, and obtaining information about Concealed Weapons Permits through the Macomb County Clerk's office.

The processing fee for an accident or incident report is $5.00 for the first page, $1.00 for each additional page.

Accident reports can be ordered online by clicking here.

Due to processing time, persons either obtaining a permit to purchase a firearm or registering a firearm are requested to arrive by 4:00pm.

The Records Department can help a visitor contact a specific officer and refer a person to the detective on their complaint. Also, private property accident reports can be taken at the Records Department window so the next time a shopping cart scratches your paint job, come on in!

Records Department Personnel are happy to help with any question, comment or problem that may arise and will strive to ensure that any issue is addressed by the proper authority at Chesterfield Police Department.

Parents are now able to confidentially purchase drug kits from the record section. DNA Kits are also available at no cost for those who want to maintain valuable identifiable information regarding their children.

Sex offender information is assessable by Internet but also can be viewed in the record section of the Police Department.

The records department is open from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm for public service, but due to processing time, you must be at the Department by 4:00 pm to register guns and obtain gun permits. Concealed weapon packets are also here for your convenience. And of course, the Chesterfield Police Department is open 24 hours a day to report a crime, relay information of a suspicious nature and to make private property accident reports.
